JUDGE KING RULES IN
FAVOR OF PACIFIC AIR CARGO TO CONTINUE AS PLANNED WITH THE PURCHASE AND
CONTINUED OPERATION OF ALOHA CONTRACT SERVICES DIVISON
HONOLULU –
Aloha Airlines today announced that its Cargo Division has filed Chapter
7. This will not interfere or impact
the sale of Aloha Contract Services to Pacific Air Cargo. Today, Judge King concluded at a Court
Hearing that the sale to Pacific Air Cargo would move forward as planned and
expected.
Aloha’s
Contract Services division employs more than 1,000 people and provides key
ground-support services for domestic and international airlines at Hawaii’s airports. These services cover a broad range of
passenger and aircraft maintenance handling.
“I look forward to working with the State of Hawaii, the Department
of Transportation, all our airlines customers and with
Aloha’s talented workforce to continue a smooth transition.” “We’re excited about the prospect of this
acquisition as it allows Pacific Air Cargo to expand the range of its air
transportation services in Hawaii. We have met many of the staff already and
they are dedicated and committed. We are prepared to make additional investment
in resources to support the fantastic staff,” said Beti Ward, Chief Executive
Office of Pacific Air Cargo.”
